San Eugenio is located on the South coast of Tenerife just north of Playa de las Americas. The resort is perfect for a beach holiday as the beaches here are beautiful. Guests can enjoy a relaxing holiday but also be close to night life here.

The Puerto Colon harbour is a short walk away where you can take numerous boat trips or diving trips from. Playa de las Americas is where the livelier atmosphere is and this is within easy reach.

San Eugenio has a slower pace to it, making it a relaxing resort. The waterparks and golf courses are all within easy reach of the resort.

Here you will also find a wider variety of 5 star All Inclusive hotels and accommodation.

Reina Sofia Airport is approx 20 km away from the resort.

Insider San Eugenio is a resort which has been designed to show visitors a good time without relieving them of too much cash

I think San Eugenio is what many people imagine Playa de las Américas to be like. It's jam packed with British and Irish restaurants and bars showing Eastenders, X Factor and football in between Karaoke and acts straight out of northern working men's clubs. Anyone looking for sunshine served with shedloads of cheap and cheerful entertainment will lap up the rows of bars whose blackboards offer the promise of cheap pints and entertainment.

San Eugenio is a resort which has been designed to show visitors a good time without relieving them of too much cash, which is why it's a popular choice for many Tenerife lovers who return year after year. I think it's starting to look a bit tired and run down compared with the newer, shinier and more upmarket parts of Costa Adeje to the west.

Be aware of the difference between San Eugenio and San Eugenio Alto which lies up the hill on the other side of the motorway from the main resort and beach area - not a good holiday choice for anyone who can't walk any distance, or who struggles with hills.

Although San Eugenio is classed as being part of Costa Adeje (despite the fact that its Casino is called Casino Playa de las Américas), in my opinion you'll be very disappointed if you're expecting to find yourself in the upmarket part of the resort. Saying that, when I'm enjoying the sunset accompanied by a glass of wine on the stylish wooden terrace of Las Rocas, the upmarket tag doesn't seem quite so fanciful.

And the must-sees? There are two places you've got to visit. The first is El Molino Blanco restaurant (look for the white windmill) which serves great food and bizarrely has a singing chef. The second is Harley's American Restaurant and Bar. Think Jack Rabbit Slim's in the movie Pulp Fiction - all classic cars, motorbikes and Cadillac seating; it's pure kitsch at its best.
